The Reports & Documents option in Company Preferences is used to define settings around reporting options.



Preview All Reports Before Printing

Tick this box if you want to preview reports on-screen when you select to print them rather than sending them directly to the printer. From the preview you will then be able to print reports if required. Untick this box is you want each report to be sent to the printer immediately when you select to print.


Start Date For Report Range

This setting applies primarily to transaction reports. When you select a transaction report such as Customer History or an Audit Trail, the transactions within a specific date range are automatically displayed for you. The default Start Date of these reports is the date you specify in this box (the Finish Date for a report will always be today's date or the date you specified on Sign-In). If you have a lot of transactions covering several years, most of which you do not necessarily now want to see when viewing these reports, it makes sense to bring the default Start Date forward so that older transactions are not immediately included in the list. This will also increase loading speed of transaction reports as it does not have to load all older information. To achieve this you would simply enter a more recent and applicable date into this setting. In each report you can still set a different Start Date after the initial report data is loaded if you need to view older information.


File Attachments Copy Location

Avanti enables you to add file attachments to any customer, supplier, stock/product record and transaction. As part of attaching files the software automatically creates a copy of every file that you attach so that your attachments are always available even if the original files are not. By default the software will copy the files into a sub-folder called Attachments in the main Avanti folder on your PC (or Server PC if you are using the multi-user edition). If you want to maintain the file copies in another location you can use this setting to define where you want to copy them to. Use the folder button to the right of the box to browse to the correct location.


Please Note : If you are using a Multi-User edition of Avanti please ensure that any location you specify is shared and accessible to all users on your network and that all users have full read/write access to the specified location.
