Search Settings
The Search Settings window is used to precisely define the type and scope of the Search you want to carry out in the Search facility.

The Search Settings windows is divided into three areas. The first is a simple option to define the Search Type. The default is to search for anything that contains your search term. If this is too broad then you can change the type of search by ticking the relevant checkbox. In addition to Contains the options are :
Begins With - Search for fields that “begin with” your search term.
Matches To - Search for fields that are an exact match to your search term.
Ends With - Search for fields that “end with” your search term.
Regardless of the Type you select, all searches are non-case sensitive.
The middle section of the Search Settings window is Search For. This enables you to define precisely which information you want to search for. Without these options you can only either search for all of the different types of information or just one type. With these options you can very closely define exactly which information you want to search for simply by unticking and ticking the relevant boxes. For Transactions you also have the option to define which type of transactions to search on or not to search on.
The right-hand section is Search In. This is where you can very closely define exactly fields you want to search in. Click the plus box next to each type of information you are searching for and all of the fields within that type are shown with a checkbox at the side of each one. Untick all of the fields you do not want to search in and leave those ticked that you do want to search in.

When you have defined the settings for your search you can click OK to confirm. The Search panel will then run a search on any search term already entered, taking into account your new settings, and display the relevant search results. Click Cancel to abandon any changes to the search settings.
If you wish to maintain the settings for further searches you can select to hide the main search panel and when you re-open Search the same settings will be used.
