Q
Do I need to be online to use Avanti?
A
If you are using the On-Premise option you do not need to be online to use Avanti - you download and install our desktop app on your own PC(s). Your data and other information is also held on your PC or your own server PC so there is no requirement to be online when using Avanti. If you choose the Cloud option, everything is hosted and managed for you in the cloud and therefore you will need to be online and have a working internet connection to access the software.

Can I use Avanti on an Apple Mac?
A
Yes you can. If you have the Cloud system you access Avanti through a Remote Desktop app which you can install for free from the Mac app store. If you have an On-Premise system, as Avanti is a designed for the Windows platform it does require Windows to run it. You can use Windows on Apple Macs just like on a PC however Macs do not come pre-installed with Windows and you will need to obtain a license for Windows first and, while not required, it is advisable to also use software such as Parallels or VMFusion.

Can I submit my Making Tax Digital VAT returns with Avanti?
A
Yes, Avanti is Recognised by HMRC to submit your VAT returns and ensure that you are compliant with Making Tax Digital. It is very simple and straightforward to setup and authorise Avanti to submit your returns, you just need to ensure that your VAT account is registered for Making Tax Digital with HMRC first.

Is there is any limit to the number of products I can store with Avanti?
A
No, you can store an unlimited number of products in Avanti to run your stock control.
Q
What product pricing options are available in Avanti?
A
You can have 3 different price levels for each product in Avanti and you can assign a price level to each customer to always use their correct price or select a different price level during invoice or sales order entry. Avanti also has 3 levels of discounts which you can use and assign to customers.

Does Avanti have facilities to let me use unique pricing for certain customers?
A
Yes, you can assign unique prices and/or discounts to customers when buying particular products and to use them automatically used when invoicing. A unique and popular option also enables you to use the last price and/or discount that the customer paid for a product automatically, making it easy to use unique pricing without any setup.

Do I have to use stock control for all of the products I sell?
A
Not at all. You can pick and choose which items you want to track stock for and those that you don't. Products that are not tracked for stock have all of the facilities of other items such as pricing features, sales tracking etc except they don't track physical stock levels.

I'd like to be able to track stock loosely and allow stock levels to go minus where needed. Can I do that?
A
You can choose to allow stock levels to go minus if you prefer a more loose inventory control or keep a strict stock control where items cannot be sold or adjusted if they exceed physical stock. It's up to you and how you work.

Can Avanti read bar codes if I use a bar code scanner?
A
The standard type of bar code scanner are keyboard wedges which scan the code through your keyboard to simulate you typing it in manually. Using this type of scanner will work fine with Avanti. Avanti doesn't cater for any other type of bar code scanner which may require specialised software drivers and therefore you should check which scanners you have and if you have yet to purchase your scanners we advise you obtain keyboard wedge scanners.

Can I easily correct or change any entries if I need to?
A
Avanti provides the facilities to edit virtually any transaction at any time to correct mistakes. It also includes an Undo facility if you want to remove transactions completely. There are controls in place of course, such as setting user rights to restrict certain users from making amendments and also you can lock accounting periods to prevent changes to periods which have been completed.

What VAT schemes does Avanti support?

Avanti supports the Standard, Cash Accounting and Flat Rate Scheme (both invoice and cash basis).

I want to email all of my invoices, quotes and statements to my customers. Is this easy to do with Avanti?
A
Avanti small business software makes it really simple to email all of your documents in PDF format. You can send emails through your email software, such as Outlook or Thunderbird, or send them directly through your email server. Documents can be emailed individually or in a batch and you can set up which contact(s) you wish to send them to at each customer automatically. You can also set up message templates to define the email messages sent with your documents.

Can I put my logo on the invoices I send through Avanti or even change some of the layout.
A
Avanti comes with a Document Designer which lets you design your invoices and statements etc exactly how you want. You can do something simple like add your logo or you can make some changes to the standard layout, add some additional information or even start from scratch and create your own layout exactly how you want. You can have as many different layouts for different purposes as you like, even have layouts that are just used for certain customers.

Can I set different payment terms for my customers & suppliers
A
Yes. You can set payment terms for an entire company, for individual customers and suppliers or even for individual transactions. Avanti small business software enables you to define Net or End Of Month terms and set terms based on a number of days or months.

Can I import my information from another software product into Avanti?
A
Avanti includes import facilities to enable you to import your customers, suppliers and stock records into the software from CSV or tab-delimited format files. The software you are using should have export options to enable you to export your information into either of these formats. If you have your data in Excel format you can simply save it as a CSV file in Excel and import it as CSV into Avanti.

Can I run several different companies on Avanti business software?

Yes, Avanti is a multi-company business system. As standard the software enables 1 company with the option to purchase and set-up more companies. See the

I need to have a handle on several different bank accounts and credit cards. Can Avanti deal with this?
A
Yes. Avanti's Bank section caters for an unlimited number of bank accounts which can include credit card, cash and loan accounts.

Can I manage automated transactions such as direct debits and standing orders?
A
Avanti has a Recurring Entry facility where you can set up your recurring payments, defining the frequency they are to be paid and when and you will then automatically be reminded when they become due and you can process them with one click.

What month-end or year-end procedures do I have to carry out with Avanti
A
None! The integrated accounting features in Avanti takes care of it all for you. No intrusive procedures which require you to finalise a period before using the next one. You simply carry on and go back and produce your management reports for previous periods whenever you are ready.
